I think when we are younger we do not understand the value of female relationships. Other women are the competition. I was in my 30's before I learned the importance of these relationships. That is also when I learned to listen to my intuition and learned what it took to be a friend. Women were no longer the enemy, they were my allies.

Some women are jealous of another for how they look, or what the have, such as family, or not. Women in general have very emotional feelings about almost everything. One might have a better job, or one wants to be a stay at home Mom, and she can't at that time in her life. She may feel the man she has is not as good as the one a friend has, many reasons. It crazy, we should be more supportive of each other. We as women will always be in some kind of FrEaKy MoOd!!!...We are just made that way....we should embrace who we are and not be jealous of what another woman has, we are each unique and we are made the way we are for many reasons. BE PROUD TO BE A WOMAN!! And not let other women make us feel bad, when in most instances the other other woman we are being jealous of, or want to be possessive of, May in fact feel the same about us...

It's Evolutionary psychology, read the book "The Moral Animal" by Robert Wright...very good book.
You may also be describing someone who just hates everyone in general, Kind of like me...I feel like I've gone through rounds of people who just don't interest me and I've gotten sick of getting to know someone just to find out they drink more than they should or they do drugs. As of now I have my boyfriend and certain people I talk to at work...it's actually kind of peaceful, But I do think sometimes that I would love to have a girl friend I could just talk to! Not have to worry about what they beat their children with or what new drug they are on. But no luck so far.

Actually, I don't think so. I feel the other way. From the outside, some women may seem possessive, but deep inside, I believe, every women is soft and sweet. Atleast...most of them.

Some women are, just as some men dislike other men!
Personally, I think some women are SO insecure and unsure of themselves that the only way they can feel good is to make someone else feel crap!

I've never understood someone taking an instant dislike to you when they don't even know you. Sometimes it's jealousy or insecurity. If you have a better car, bigger house etc..It's pretty shallow but true I'm afraid.

Hmm, could other women dislike you because you call us bitchy and possessive.
Personally I have seen men who have the same traits. It's determined by the individual's personality.

I don;t know, but it's one of the reasons I don't have any close female friends. I can't be bothered with the constant bitching, sniping and jealous that goes on. Women always compare theirself to other women, I do it myself- but as soon as it gets nasty, I just don't get it. It's like a need for survival or something.
