I liked him,I enjoyed watching him risking his life doing what he loved. It kinda sucks that hes dead. I guess he kinda had it coming, but still. What do you think?

I don't care how much training you've had, if you are taunting dangerous and wild animals(poisenous snakes, crocodiles etc.)then it almost seems inevitable that you're going to get it.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

He did not "kinda had it coming". Steve Irwin ALWAYS showed total respect for the animals he worked with. He always knew how far he could go, and he always had the support and back up of his crew. It was simply a startled sting ray that whipped his tail up and caught Steve in the chest (heart) with the stinger. I will miss him very much, but I know he passed on the way he lived, and that would have pleased him.

Well, in the immortal words of film legend Clint Eastwood:
"we all have it comin', kid..."
I think many of us always felt, one day something is going to tag him.... I was stunned to discover how bad stingrays are. They sting a LOT of people and they are REALLY nasty stings. It often comes without any warning and is simply a defensive reflex of the fish. If they do get you in the chest cavity, like happened to Steve, its usually fatal!
They actually kill way more people than sharks..........
(See, Steve's legacy still at work........)
I do feel terrible about this, I find it even difficult to imagine the effect of this on Terri, Bindi and Bob, and I still have NO idea what to tell my 12 year old son when he wakes up..........

only 2 other deaths have been recorded in Australia caused by stingrays and both fisherman were handling these creatures,Steve Irwin was extremely unlucky in that the barb pierced his chest, it is a really painful way to go but lets hope it was quick ! as an Aussie its very sad as he was much loved in OZ we will miss him terribly.

No one has anything coming like that. There are thousands of people that do what he does and live long happy lives. It's just that a notable person dies so now everyone dealing with animals has it coming which isn't true. It was just an accident.

I can honestly say that I am deeply saddened by this. A REAL and genuine human being. I grew up watching him on Animal Planet and on talk shows like Jay Leno. It was not his time yet.
RIP Steve
You're the best!

I think it is awful. He left behing two children and a wife, but it was kinda inevitable. They say you live by the sword and you die by the sword, well he did just that.

Well..., as far as I'm concerned, noone has it coming. He was highly trained in what he did, seriously, are people going to start saying that a motorist who dies in a car crash has it coming simply because he dared to drive?
