could the 3rd theory be like a mixture of the 2 or creationism but without the story of adam and eve or creationism without god... could evolution actually not be progressive but ever changing... ie we dont necessarily evolve into better beings but the earth is actually in different states of flx depending on how we treat it.. (ie the butterfly effect if you know what i mean)..

yes the evolutionary theory in my opnion does say that we evolve into better things bcz the ones that survive are supposedly the ones that adapt better to their environment ...
the ape to human theory is also based on the assumption that we evolve into more intelligent beings over time..
it also supposedly explains why we are no longer an amoeba

it just seems that whenever someone on yahoo says something against the evolution theory all atheists attack it and mostly by saying something along the lines of "shut up you religious zealot"

An excellent question! There isn't just one theory of evolution or just one theory of creation. There isn't one law or theory of mathematics. Collect all of the ideas from all the evolutionists and all the creationists who ever lived and put them in a big box. Add the ideas of those who don't, won't, or can't categorize themselves that way. Some of those are good theories which meet the standards of science as theories. Some are not. Of the good ones, some are contradictory, even though they are equally scientific. Some are true. Some are not. True scientists will apply the scientific method using all of the facts and tools available to try to find out which are true. They won't rule out some theories simply because they don't like them. They will also recognize the limits of current knowledge, and of science itself. We may eventually understand how gravity works. But even that won't tell us why gravity exists. If the early universe began with a Big Bang, we may learn a lot about what that bang was like, but it won't tell us where the energy and/or matter came from, or who caused it, or even how time and space came into existence, or what it was like if/when there was no time or space.

Yes, there are other theories but humans cannot handle more that 2 at a time - lol.
BTW not all atheists believe in evolution.
It's possible that life as we know it today did not evolve. It was created in an instance from a complex series of events.
Another cause is that the same event created a single highly intelligent and capable being that we call God and he or she created us.
A fifth idea is that we are imagining that we exist - lol
There are doubters of both evolution and creation. They are difficult ideas to concieve without faith - life forming over eons of time or a supersource who none of us have actually seen, creating ALL life in 7 days.
Evolution seem more plausible to me -- I can see how life can generate from the right mix of substances. A simple example is germs that have grown resistant to medication.
(But just to be safe I've decided to believe in God. I will give him the gratitude he demands so I will not be left behind).

It could be possible for there to be a 3rd theory. But if you consider the theory of evolution to be an atheist view then why the 3rd theory be considered to be a Christian (or non-atheist) view? By the way, the theory of evolution is not an atheist theory. There are a lot of people that are Christian that believe that in both views. There is nothing wrong in believing that both are equally true.

Huh?
Who said that evolution was an atheist theory?
Propogandists, that is who.
And who said that creationism was a theory? It never made it past hypothesis, no matter what they would like to say.
And as for the last thing, chaotic systems don't change the eventual probabilistic outcomes.
If someone tells you that things evolve into 'better' things they are also wrong. Evolution says that only ones to survive are those who survive - hardly difficult to comprehend.

You're on the right track. What if the truth is somewhere in between. Why is it that the ancient records from nearly all early civilizations tell the same story of "the Gods" ie advanced beings intervening with human evolution?

Just spouting my beliefs...
Humans are the first and only species to achieve de-evolution, Humans no longer evolve because of the technology we have created. Evolution denotes survival of the fittest....but in our day and age everybody survives...reproduces. Our medical advances, our technological cures to handicaps help every human possible to survive. Thus instead of the weak genes dying off, they all get passed into the next generation along with the healthy genes in our 1.x children per couple society.
Will the planet heal itself? that depends on whether it "wins" against us....if humans can sustain themselves with their technology then its possible for the planet to loose...lol and ironically us very shorty after, but in certainty humans need to die off in order for the planet to mend what we've done to it.
In a macroscopic view of human behavior, the matrix put it quite correctly when Smith called humans the disease of this planet. Humans simply consume resources at a state far beyond equilibrium with their surroundings. There is no give and take, simply take, so that we can pursue our "purpose"... which is what? to consume resources? If so many pursue happiness, and achieve happiness with the collection of materials, then it is instilled that those humans have found there purpose in life to consume.

A third theory could be that aliens have got involved with the evolution of mankind... and could be continuing to do so. Of course then you still have the question "did the aliens evolve, or did god create them..."
PS: I don't believe this theory... but its a possibility.

Absolutely. Darwin was a Christian. Einstein was a Jew.
Too many times we get confused about "truth" and "fact".
The Bible has a lot of "Truth" in it.
The Origin of the Species has a lot of "Fact" in it.
To me, I can't see a better way to create a human being than through 3.5 billion years of struggle, adaptation, trial, error and growth. It multiplies my respect for God's efforts 1000 times.... The end result is a beautifully advanced creature capable of adapting himself to any environment -- from the crushing depths of the sea floor to the vacuum of space -- from the Arctic to the Sahara. We can survive.
What an ingenious creation we are and what an ingenious way to create us!

Recent discoveries in physics point to the possibility of a god... ie: Multiple universes... as many as 18 dimensions... Recent advances in quantum physics...
Subatomic physics is a very interesting field in the possibilites it opens up... Studies have been done that show we can affect matter by the very PROBABILITY that we're going to affect it... What a concept!
