killing the first born male child, he did make sure that the "deliverer"(moses) would be killed. but when moses' mother found out what was happening, she placed moses in a basket, and sent him down the nile where he was found by a princess(the pharoahs sister) and raised to be an heir to the throne of egypt, but he would grow up to find his real identity, thus becoming the "deliverer" to "deliver" the jewish people out of the bondage that held them for many years in slavery to the egyptians. i would suggest reading the bible r even watching the movie "the ten commandments" with charlton heston.

hi!
i have 2 answers for u question..
1. Pharaoh killed many babyes ( boys) because he Hebrews were slaves in Egypt. So he want that Hebrews not have any boys so them can be assimilated by Egyptians in time... because if they had boys the Hebrew people can fight against Egyptians, make a revolution and leave Egypt . ( that happend in Moses time) And if the Hebrews leave the Egypt, the Pharaoh had no more people who will work for him as slaves...for pyramids, agriculture, and others.
2. This may be an legend so Moses was saw by his people like " the chosen one" the one who escaped in a miraculous way from Pharaoh punishment. So the Hebrews should trust him like " the one " " the prophet, the chosen one"
send me an email with u options pls,

The birth of Moses occurred at a time when the current Egyptian Pharaoh had commanded that all male children born to Hebrew slaves should be killed by drowning in the Nile river. Hope that helps :)

I think its the other way around....during Moses' time, the last miracle of Moses was that the first born sons will die. The Pharoah's eldest child was a son hence died. After that the Pharaoh gave Moses' people, the Israelites their freedom.
Amazing how there are several stories relating to first borns.

If you read Exodus 1, the reason is the complaints of the Egyptians on overpopulation and rebellion in the future. As we can see, males are important in giving birth and on battle.
If you want, look on your bible and see for yourself.

See the bible you will get all. It is connected to the birth of Jesus Christ, for the king could not get the baby jesus, and he was afraid of his destruction.
Interestingly, in the Hindu history, there is similar occurrence of King KAMSA and birth of LORD KRISHNA.
