His last name was "Irwin", wasn't it? I liked him, but was a bit hyper. I think he took way too many risks and this was to happen sooner or later. He was only 44 yrs old, and too young to die. He has some young children, but I just feel sorry for his wife and relatives. He tried too hard to entertain people, and to be daring. I guess it was maybe his time to go.He will be missed. He probably died quickly, the stingray stung him in the chest, so he didn't have a chance.I liked him and he didn't bother me really. I thought he was very entertaining, but too daring.

i absolutly loved him when i was a child, and nothing has changed he lived his life to the full and on the edge, with the friends, family, and animals in which he loved and respected- how many people can say that?
he was a great man who done alot for lives of humans and animals alike..
he created not only a worldwide love for crocs and other like creatures, but created an amazing zoo and an amazing family..

well i suppose he was a little annoying on TV but that wouldnt have been his real personality.. he was probably a very loving husband and father. The family must be soo distraught!!
I do think this question is quite sad.. he has only died this morning and you are asking this question now!
I think you should consider those people who thought he was great! his family, his friends and his fans..
RIP Steve Urwin
very sad and shocking way to die

Yes. He did his best for the enviroment and wildlife he loved. He had a wife and two young kids, And i am sue he will be badly missed.
I think the question should have bee phrased a little differently. Someone may not like his programme. But how many of us knew him personnaly.

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

I think some negative cynical people thought he was a bit much, but for the most part he was loved by millions. A great ambassador for animals and a great entertainer.

I was shocked when I read the article on yahoo. I felt really sorry for his wife and children. He was a bit of a mad person but he was entertaining and he did lots work for his country and the environment in general.
