I've read many articles about violence and I've noticed that most of it is in Europe.
Am I correct to say this?
What are your thoughts?

Your definitely correct in saying it.... I was watching Sydney vs Melbourne in Australia's A-League competition on the weekend and in the first 13 minutes of the game Melbourne went up 1-0, then Sydney conceded a penalty for a professional foul and if things couldn't get any worse... Sydney's captain - no less - got two yellow cards in the 13th minute for a dangerous tackle and then right in front of the ref.. he kicked the player he just fouled!!! Police have actually begun investigating incidents' in the match for violent conduct!!!

Ugliness like that does not belong in the beautiful game!!!

You are correct but then again Rugby is even worse. But the excuse with rugby is that its just part of the game!! So which one is worse in football; the match fixing to the detriment of weaker teams or the foul plays?

Europe will be one of the worse culprits because of the amount of many involved when a team wins and besides its the only game they can play all year round with such passion from the audience.

I think there is too much acting more than anything else

Plus I saw a report on racism during the games, I was rather surprised by that. I always thought of Europe as more cultured. In North America you would never get away with taunting players like that. You'd never make it out of the stands.

Yes, no doubt there is too much violence. I think part of it is the quality of the players and also the pressure that is put on them. Cristiano Ronaldo as an example, I dont know if he is a good one, but it seems he just aggravates other players because they cant get the ball, so they just get frustrated and foul him. Some players who get roughed a lot and fouls arent called also tend to get frustrated and violent. I think the money involved and the media parasites add to the pressure put on the players.

On or off the field? In South America, they even attack the players. When Teves scored this year, he showed the fans the sign of shushing with the finger in front of the lips, he had to be escorted out by SWAT looking protectors. They have chain linked fencing separating the fans from players. I never want to see that here. So the field sounds a lot more humble now, doesn't it?
