You can set the HDD and the Monitor to turn off in a certain time by going to > Right Click on your desktop > properties > screen saver > POWER and then choose what you want.

Hope this helps.

There are several ways of doing this:
1. Already mentioned by Joe Young although the one that should be typed is: "shutdown -s -t nn" (without quotes, nn is the time)
Tips: you could exchange -s with -l for logoff and -r for restart.

2. Use the Scheduled Task, a Windows' feature that is rarely used.
Go to Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks > Add Scheduled Task, follow the wizard. When asked for a program, choose browse and locate C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe . Next, choose the interval, or time you want to shutdown, finish the rest of the process, you might be asked for your username and password. Next step, open the newly made task's properties, and modify the task path (in the Run box) from C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe into C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe -s
then Ok. Wait for the time for it to shutdown itself

WARNING: If there is other users logged on your computer, the computer mightn't be able to shutdown for method 1 and 2.

3. There are some programs that enable you to do this that you can download. You won't need them though, as there are multitude of ways of doing this from Windows itself.

If you are using Windows XP. right click on properties. Go to power. And you can set it to shut down your monitor and hard drive at specific times. It also works with laptops.

yeah... lets start right click on your desktop to bring up desktop settings. then click the screen saver tag... then click the power button... and click whatever is in the drop down menu... like E.g.
Click the drop down menu where it says home/office desktop.

you'll see another drop down menu where you can tell the system to shut down. the monitor dropdown menu obviously controls the monitor power settings and the hard disk controls the computer's power, specify which ever one to your liking and have fun!

i could say some thing is faulting whilst it fairly is warm, as electric factors placed on out, warmth motives them to now not make a stable connection, and the section will end working, inclusive of electric injectors, distributors, timing reference sensors, etc. whilst it won't start up, try checking for spark, gas stress, and gas injector activation. as quickly as you chop down which equipment is faulting, you may desire to have the potential to be certain the undertaking from there
