Cats are too intelligent. They think for themselves too much.
I don't think they'd accept being rounded up, stuck in stalls and made to run after something. They'd do whatever they wanted. They aren't easy to train either. Even if you have a lazy dog, you can tarin it to do certain things, but cats are too unpredicateble.
Also they are much smaller - can you imagine how close the crowd would have to sit to watch the cats!!??

Cats are either too smart, or too philosophical about the meaning of life - in any case there's no chance you could make them run a race.
Even though, of course, they may chose to run quite fast after prey, at times.
Joke apart, I believe that felines, either small or large, are not wired with endurance comparable to that of canines. Cats, lions, tigers, mountain lions, all tend to hunt using (extreme) patience and surprise effects potentially followed by a very short sprint. Whereas cheetas, dogs, wolves, will happily run for miles (or tens of miles) after prey.

Because cats are very difficult to train, but the dogs are more intelligent and easy to train. The cats are doing only what they want.

properly i comprehend from very own journey...it incredibly is while my cat and dogs start to circulate at it (and the dogs is the instigator) that cat runs hella quicker than the dogs that's ought to for her and shes a clever toddler...yet she's a cat could I assume something much less lol.

B'coz cats r stupid & lazy .they cant be trained and never do any thing useful .. Dogs ROCK !!
I dont agree cats run faster then dogs ..b'coz i always see cats lying lazily somewhere licking themselves ..lol
