I think that Islam is a genuine faith. Islam, as Judaism and Christianity, all started in the Middle-east. Thay are all Abrahamic Religions, and they all decend from Abraham. Its the media and Bush that twist things round. Stop listening to BRAIN WASHING Media and Bush. Use your logic. What makes these Muslims so angry. We had no problem with them in the past. But all of a sudden, Bush starts to invade Irag Afghanistan, and now Iran, the people get angry, then they are called terrorist?????

Islam is no different from any other religion, it is a genuine faith and way of life, it is a little less tolerant of non-believers , compared to Christianity or Judaism of today ( Christianity and Judaism, were not always so tolerant in their past history either )
It is being used as a political tool ! that is for sure, but then again, GW Bush appears to be a good Christian to appeal to Christian voters , Israel , portrays all Muslims as blood enemies of all Jews ! and so on .....
I suppose all religions are being used as political tools, and Islam is no different .

Islam is not just a theory but a way of life based on deep faith. The five pillars of Islam are:
Profession of faith 'Shahada'
Praying regularly
Fasting during Ramadan
Being charitable
Performing the 'hajj'
Islam calls for an Islamic country to be governed by Islam and to follow 'Sharia' or strict Quranic law.
The 'jihad' is defined as 'striving'. and not the lurid accounts given in the press. The more correct 'jihad bis sayf' means striving through the sword or violent revolt and really belongs to violent revolt within the Muslim community.
From a western point of view it is therefore a complicated mix. Dedication to God and living a good life, clashing with the excesses of 'sharia law' and the desire for the country to be governed by Islam. It is further complicated because the various parts of Islam do not sit very well together. It is almost like a puzzle with the bit that would hold it together being missing.
As a religion it has gone through violent turmoil in it's past. During the 'fitna' in the 500 years following the prophets death there was considerable violence and discord leading to the splitting of Islam into Shia and Sunni.
In strongly Islamic countries children go to Islamic school from 4 years old to 7 and study nothing but Islam. It is not surprising therefore that the faith is so strong.
The vast majority of Muslims are peace loving and against terrorism but we have to realise that a huge proportion live in poor conditions and poverty. Most Western Muslims know many people back in their old countries that suffer deprivation and poor conditions. So it is easy to see where the discontent comes from.
Sadly this appears to make it easy for the handfull of extremists to recruit and turn good mulims into bad ones and make terrorists of them.
Whilst Muslims take a hard press try sitting back and looking how the vast majority live their lives in peaceful dedication to their God, giving to charity and helping their neighbours. Against their lifestyle most Christians look like pagans!
I myself am an athiest but repect the right of others to believe and worship who and what they wish as long as it does not adversely affect other. In this case it is not Islam or Muslims having the adverse impact, it is the extremists and terrorists and we all need to be clear about that.
Turn against the Islamic community and you play right into the hands of the terrorists!!

islam is a way of life, everything is described from how to treat others and how to keep yourself clean. The only thing with the Quran is that some verses are so vague that they can be interpreted in so many different ways and when this is mixed with a crazy mind, that is when you get these crazy terrorists. I find Islam to be a very peaceful religion and all the muslims I know are completely against what is happening in the world right now.

When Mohammed walked off into the desert he said "don't do anything until I get back" The majority are still waiting, hence they still live in the middle ages, remember it is 1427 according to the Muslim calendar. Where was Western society in 1427? We were burning witches and razing villages in the name of Christianity. Another 600 years and maybe we will find peace.

Without a doubt a genuine faith held by millions worldwide. That's not to say any of it is real - faith, after all, means believing without evidence, and this applies to all religions. However Islam appears to be blighted by a number of its followers who are stuck in a medieval mindset, believing that all must submit to their faith, which of course is never going to happen.

It is a faith which has been abused as a political tool to gratify selfish, greedy minds.
The same is still evident in Christians and Jews alike.

Muslims, Christians and Jews are all children of the bible yet their hatred of each other is intense. I think they should all be ashamed of themselves and their so-called religion.
