I would say it depends on what the boys and girls are planning on doing together. Parents tend to think the worst, which is why your mom got mad, but if you guys don't have anything planned beyond relatively innocent things, they she shouldn't have anything to worry about. 'Course, if you all plan on sleeping in the same room, that might be a small cause for concern, as far as sleeping attire and whatnot, but even that shouldn't be a problem as long as you have a bathroom with a door. And if your mom still doesn't like the idea, maybe you could strike a compromise and have the boys sleep in another room.

It is okay as long as you know who and what they are like. Parents sure can be old fashioned at times. Your mother most likely remembers something in her past when about your age and it frightens her to think it may happen to you. Remember she was your age at one time and had the same feelings as you have. Her mother probably got just as angry at some of what she did. I am a great grandfather now so I know the fear when your child does begin to grow up to be an adult. Pleas try not to fight back. Little by little show her you can be trusted. I would not want to be a teen again. That sure was a tough time for me.

I had the oppourtunity to go to a mixed sexed slumber party when I was 15. My mum went mad like yours has when I told her, and I went mad at her cuz I really wanted to go and couldn't see the harm in it. Now I'm a mum of 3 myself, and I can understand why my mum wouldn't let me go. When your a parent yourself, you'll understand.

I sure wouldn't let my daughters spend the night with boys and girls as a teenager. My wife and myself are very liberal...easy going, but we would never allow this to happen.

Well not the boys shouldn't be there for a sleep over and you know boys will be boys and that's what your mother is thinking also.
