I have to get a costume for a Vampires' Ball next weekend. What's the easiest, cheapest shop to buy one? I'm a guy.
I've been told eBay as well...Can someone give me some advice...
I'd prefer to go to a shop and buy as I can fit-on...but don't want to spend too much money

Go to thrift shops. You want something old and seedy, anyway, don't you? The hard part, of course, will be the cape. But there are capes out there; keep looking.

In desperation, you could make one fairly easily. It's just a shape that looks like a jacket over your shoulders and then runs along the bias of the fabric from there. Sorry we can't do pictures on this site, but you don't need to buy a pattern. Cut the fabric on the true bias (45 degrees from the selvage edges), then fit a curve to your shoulder.

By far, the easiest and cheapest costume would be to go as a victim. You just need some white theatrical (or Halloween) makeup so you look "drained". Then a few nice fake neck wounds with blood dripping down.

Don't run around, buy it online, it's so easy! eBay is a good start but you might not be able to buy it right away because of the auction process...There are many online retailers you can try: BuyCostumes.com, SpiritHalloween.com, AnniesCostumes.com, CostumeCraze.com.

You can get it delivered within days and I am certain you can find something under $30-$40...maybe even less.

I hope this helps. ;-)

Where is the ball being held? I'm thinking of doing something like that for my birthday!

depending on where you live, there should be costume shops that will have what you need. The rent is usually fairly reasonable.

Cheap way to make fangs:

For extras in horror movies, this is how they do it; Take Lee Press-on Nails, cut them to shape, paste them in with denture paste (like Polident).
