Siniora can't defy Syria and Iran. The world would not want that too. As you should know, Lebanon is a very weak country. Usually, a weak country does not defy a regional superpower such as Iran and Syria.
Lebanon does not need a Christian Resistance or any kind of other resistance that could lead to another devastating civil war. We need peace, my friend, peace and love to be the best. By uniting, the Christians and the Muslims, Lebanon would become the strongest and most beautiful country in the MidEast.

Why the hell should any one help Lebanon to defy Syria & Iran. Lebanon has already suffered a lot. The need of the hour is peace, not hatred and revange. Who wants another world war.........It was a shame on Israel to use all it's military might on a weak opponent, yet it could not achieve it's goal.

there is a different way to look at this unity what things would be accomplished? what you say is really would affect the whole world what was Napoleon"s vision once he invaded Egypt in his way to Palestine his vision was to plant some nation which separate between Arabs in Egypt and those in Syria Iraq Syria Egypt those are the 3 countries the key countries which no power has ever managed to defeat them once Egypt is defeated you may sea the help comes from syria and Iraq if Iraq and Syria were defeated you see the help coming from Egypt lately what happened with the advanced technology transport missile power Iraq on its own was good enough with advanced technology to form sort of threat for the plans arranged to control the area which now we see that US itself came with its power to make sure that the plans are still under control so the unity you said the unity of Egypt and Syria 1958 any unity happens in the area would be seen as threat to west now how the people of these countries would feel of such an idea people of the area lost interest in the leaders which they trust no longer they do feel strongly in favor of unity but the trust in leaders make them not even putting this issue on table of their own daily hopes

From what I understand, UN countries are supplying them with weapons, money, etc... and also the promise to help them rebuild Lebanon if they will get rid of Hezbollah.
Also, they have promised to refuse any assistance from Syria and Iran in exchange for this assistance from the UN countries.
