YOu know what irks me? Is that people who saw you say "Please don't say anything if you can't say nice things" And you have that idiot who had to say "So What!" Who cares if YOU were a fan! We all are FANS of Steve Irwin! The rest of us who have nice things to say.
It is deeply troubling that Steve was killed. My brother started a message board about Turtles and his name on the board is Crochunter. He admires Steve immensly. The sad part is Stingrays are normally very docile animals and even when threatened will only sting with their barbs not stab through a chest! What a freak accident for someone who did so many other dangerous things in his life!
From what I hear, as of last night when the news was breaking, his wife and family didn't even know yet as she was trekking out somewhere else doing a documentary project. HOrrible, I have been crying all morning and I know many others are affected by his passing! I am praying for his family and Raise a glass to Steve Irwin!

I agree with you, it's very sad indeed. My kids loved him also, I really think my son will be devastated. It seems such a waste because it wasn't the crocodiles or snakes that harmed him, it was a freak accident under water, that apparantly is very rare. He did a wonderful job in promoting wildlife and making it fun again! Making it so enjoyable for adults and children alike. I hope he recieves no criticism because his children were never in harm, he knew what he was doing. He was a wonderful father and husband and a courageous, loving, caring, adventurous man who will be sadly missed by all who ever saw him. I offer his children and wife condolences and lobve and support from all of his fans. X

We all knew that something would get him eventually. But i would've thought a croc might have or a snake but not a sting ray.
Feel sorry for his family specially his kids, but remember that he died doing what he loved most and done all his life.
He knew the risks and he took them of his own free will to keep us lot entertained.
I thank him for all the laughter he bought me and the knowledge he shared to millions. We will miss him.

My eldest son will never let us switch channel if Crocodile Hunter's showing.. That's what kids call him the Crocodile Hunter, guess most adults too. Not many know his real name coz what lovely things he did to the animals and nature were so much larger than life itself.
He'll be missed.

I think it is so sad and such a tragic loss to us all. He helped us all to understand more about the animals he worked with and was a very gifted man. He was a wonderful advocate for animals. My heart goes out to his family right now.

I heard on the radio that he used a lot of his money to buy up land for conservation purposes, whatever people think of his TV shows that is surely worth celebrating. My thoughts go out to his family.

I think the world has just lost another great conservationist, a bit like Diane Fosse (although she was murdered).
Both great people trying to save this planet and it's treasures.
May he rest in peace and my heart felt sympathy to his family at this time.
