What colour clothes go with a beige item of clothing? Also, is this rule different for when the beige item is an upper-body clothing item and for when it is a lower-body item of clothing?

Cream, black, burgundy, forest green, or navy blue would go well with beige. I think that in general it is more flattering to have the darker color on the lower body, but these color combinations would work either way.

Lots of colour go well with beige.
Black, white, cream, dark brown, dark shades of blue and green, burgundy, red...
I think the important thing to combinate beige is to choose a colour that is going to make high contrast: it has to be either a darker colour (say, dark brown) or a lighter one (say, white).
Which one do you wear on top depends on the colour of your skin.
Do you have fair skin? Then do not wear light colours in your top.
Do you have dark skin? Then wear light colours in your top.
It is all about getting contrast.
PS. Not ALL colours go well with beige. Do NOT combine beige with yellow!

No rules - just wear what you think matches and looks good together - Brown is a great complimenting colour, as are black and white. Try not to pay too much attention to what fashion gurus dictate, as they usually have a particular style or body shape in mind.

Beige is very neutral. I'd reccomend anything but beige, otherwise you'll look like a solider in desert uniform.

Maybe soft summer coulors like soft pink or soft green. Yes it differs, like when u wear beige in your upper-body, and pink in your lower-body, it would not look that nice!

Beige is a very easy but yet difficult color to match since its so neutral but you can be daring with it :) I find that this season beige can go with either a red color or white and maybe yellow if you dare... mainly when you have it as s botton color then it works perfectly....

when beige is pper item choose brown, black or a burnt orange or rusty red. if lower dark brown or orange

Keane and Coldplay go with beige - they are beige. No self-respecting person with a personality should wear it.
