That's a tough question. Rubies can have a very large range of cost depending on many factors. The size of the stone or carat weight, the clarity, the cut, and the color intensity. A stone's origin also play a part in what is more desirable. Burmese rubies are usually the most expensive due to the desirability of their color and the fact that they are more rare. The most desired color of ruby is described as "pigeon blood red". Another thing that will affect the cost is whether a stone is natural or if it has been treated to improve it's general appearance or to hide flaws. You can purchase a 1/2 - 1 carat stone for up to $100 for a lower quality stone or you can pay several thousand dollars for the same size stone but in better quality. So basically it depends on what you are looking for. I hope this helps!

Depends upon the size and clarity of the stone. But generally speaking they are a lot less than diamonds or emeralds.
