Fashion is an expression for the need to change.Change is the only constant.Otherwise life will become stagnant.Fashion keeps life alive.

This is how the cookie crumbled: There was creativity (mankind is nothing but creation like evrything else, like there is a food chain, there is a creation chain too!!), then there was art, which is nothing but trained expression of one's creativity, .... then there was design, that is art made not to personal expression only, but to satisfy a need.... and then there was fashion, that is trend bound to a time. example, cotton is creation, painting on canvas is art, pants are design, painted jeans are fashion. OK now the next part.... Fashion plays a role in helping us look good (no body likes a sore sight) and the very factor that is changes with trends makes us look good and not stale and boring. To me, there was an extra offer. it gives my my daily bread.

fashion plays a fairly important role in today's times. If one adheres to fashion fundas, it does give one great confidence to express one's attitude. It definitely gives a good change from what one has been adorning from the last season. It elevates one's sense of style and so on.....but one must not go astray in simply following fashion. Everyone has a distinct style and one should respect that when following fashion....that's all.

Fashion defines the group to which you wish to be associated with, as with all decoration it is "tribal" It denotes the "class" you belong too or aspire too. Label Loosers, buy the labels to make themselves feel rich/important etc.... the rest of us create our own style.
