my boyfriend says he wont marry me unless i change my name to his. My name is important to me why cant he see that?.

he says if i marry him i marry his name, well why wouldnt he accept that when i told him that!!! im proud of my name but he says its his name or nothing!!!

I don't think that's the most important question you need to ask yourself. How about this one instead:
"Do I wish to marry someone who makes such brazen, selfish threats??"

You and both have to more talk properly about change last name when both are married will understand each other! if you agree with his name on it or unagree that you still stay your name thrus in your heart forever that all. if you don't like that B/f got back off lol. but I understand that you feeling love with him then that fine!

Either one of you gives in or you don't get married. You can try a hyphenated name but it's more trouble than it's worth and you'd still likely resent it (I did).

The solution to your problem is simple, use a double barrel name, i.e. my Father's name was Jeffries, my Mother Topham so I became ****** Jeffries-Topham, in marriage you are giving your self wholly to your husband but keeping your own name is also important as it keeps your identity so double barrel and please everyone

You can have both last names you know. I don't know how your bf thinks but it can be because he thinks he ownes you that way or just because he thinks it means you love him, but if you like your last name and it means something to you then have both.

You can do whatever you want with your name. My sister kept hers. Your BF needs to understand it's your choice. Make sure he knows you don't have problem with his name or him. It's just your preference.
