The ancient Egyptian version of the death penalty - being locked in quite a plush cell and served with the very best food that chefs of the time could prepare. The downside was that you were told that at some point (maybe in days, weeks, months, or years) there would be a deadly dose of poison in the excellent food you were being served. Did you eat the food and enjoy it while it lasted or starve yourself to death? That, for me, is more horrible than death!

I dont think death is horrible but pain is.

Death is just a release that people should not be afraid of. I think most people fear on how they will die.

Where would you get the idea that death is horrible?

Death, for the dead, means nothing -you are dead, what use do you have for horror?

But if you want something horrible, what about fear of death? anticipation of death?
