We are told that being popular is important by our televisions, print magazines, hollywood actors and the advertising industry.
Its a way to get us to buy more things.

No one is different really. Culture and language make it seem so on the inside, but as the human animal we all do as humans do. To be top of the heap means you are the strongest of the breed. I'm sure that isn't any different where you are.

I think all people have a desire to be noticed and feel important,it makes you feel like you count,you matter,you are alive,and some people take it to extreme,I guess it could become addictive like a drug,so you'd have to do things to try and be noticed

why are all questions by Americans along the lines of "why bla bla bla bla for AMERICAN people?".

why is everything directed at Americans?

why are Americans so self-centred?
