The only answer to that is practice.
Try to find a friend who can play and learn initially from them the basic chord structures. Your fingers will hurt holding down the chords but persevere soon they will harden up. Eventually lessons are the only way to go especially for pentatonic scales etc on the electric guitar.

I have only being playing the guitar for about 5 days, and am slowly beginning to get better.
All i have is a book and a thirty-year old acoustic guitar. If you really persevere and work hard at it, i'm sure you will get better.

You need to take lessons. Register at a music store once you buy a guitar.
