I agree that Nintendo Revolution sounded cool, but part of why it is called Wii is because Revolution was its code name. They changed it to Wii as in "We" everybody. Also because it doesn't have to be abbreviated like PS3 or whatever. I don't think they considered any languages when they came up with it other then the English "we." I didn't like the name at first, but I am used to it now and still want it because of some of the games it will have and it will be much more affordable then the other systems.

Probably the real reason is becuase its easy to remember since it's so off the wall. PS3 isn't hard to remember, neither is xbox 360, but both of those names make logical since in the naming game. Maybe the original name of the oldest nintendo started with a "w" or something to that effect, or someone working on the Wii's name started with a "w."

through fact there is not sufficient people who additionally play gamecube, N64 or any of the different Nintendo consoles. If extra human beings had questions with regard to the DS then i'm particular they could make a piece for that yet through fact there is not that a lot of human beings can in simple terms ask their questions for any of Nintendo's different structures right here.

I believe Nintendo announced at E3 the name was for the style of system they are going for. Meaning everyone in the family can play it. So you pronounce it We meaning we are going to play. Not an exact quote or phrase but that is the jist of it.
