The republican party base principals are based on economic security, tax relief and national security.
The Democrats base principals are based on tax and spend the US in to a socialist government, reduce the military to expand welfare so that the citizens are more dependent on the government, tax and then tax again.

good question. In some ways the two parites are gettin closer and closer and in others further apart. They both are elitists, they think they can run your and my life better than we can. After saying that I think the republicans are the best of the two evils. Here's why: I am a conservative in idiology, I believe in less taxes and a strong military, then leave me the hell alone Mr. Government. Well it ain't that way as much as I wish it were. But the republicans of today realize that it's the private sector that runs the country not the government and they believe in fighting the terrrorists with gusto. The deomocratic party had become very left wing liberal in the last 20 years and if we let them run things we will see much higher taxes and they will not fight terrorism as it should be. They think they can negotiate with them, big mistake. They simply want to kill each and every one of us in any manner they can. The libs just don't get it. They also think how dare you be rich even though you worked hard for it. Doesn't matter you should share with Jose over there even though he's here illigally, no one should have more then anyone else...except them of course..after all they know better how to spend your hard earned dollars then you do. So if they re-gain power they will tax the heck out of everyone and re-distripute the money as they see fit. If you are hispanic or Asian or Black and on welfare by all means vote for the Democrats they will help you, but they will only give you enough to survive and maybe you can have a six pack once in a while and play the lottery. If you believe in just being left alone (if you follow the laws of the land) and taking advantage of a good education and working hard for what you earn and even get rich or semi-rich then vote republican. That's all I know lol

There isn't really much difference. Both parties believe they know what is best for YOU and they insist that you live according to the rules they create.
The current administration has been much more successful at changing government than previous ones. The fact that political appointees rather than scientists now have the final say at the FDA makes me sick. This is one reason we could use a Dem in the executive branch; to wipe out those nutcases making very bad decisions.

republicans are more worried about their own image, money, and such. they are also more conservative, afraid of change and usually based on religion. democrats are mostly less interested with money, more interested in the morals and happiness of the people and much more liberal. republicans are usually more aggressive with everything they do and expect everybody to do what they want. democrats are more like negotiators. they look at the big picture and try to find a happy medium for problems.

I don't know what those words mean. I'm a bit more liberal than the average American. But, I don't like to call myself a Democrat. When I say that people suddenly think I'm against guns, killing people, and self-defense.

the original republic was a roman senate, basically it is designed by the people without a king,,,,,america is a republic not a democracy. A democracy is closer to communism designed around the goverment and state control.
