Judging from the fact Jimi placed the bass parts with his thumb, the strings must have been the 'right way up'. He also sang and played lead while playing rhythm as well. A guitarist that did it all, with a lot of style. Jimi is God

Upside down right handed electric strung right for a lefty, but he could actually play left handed or right handed......and to take it a little further, he would put in long hours by himself at his Electric Ladyland Studio, laying down tracks, and there are some sounds and technical engineering, that to this day they don't know how he did them.....

Yeah he played the low e with his thumb. so it was strung correctly for a right handed guit, but upside down down for a left handed one.

It was correct for him which is all that matters to me. Do I play the drums correctly? (not to compare myself to the great genius, Jimi.)
