I'm looking for a nes or snes game that deals with islands & the character makes footprints on squares.?

I played this game sometime before 1995, and I'm certain it was on a Nintendo system (nes or snes). The character was in an environment containing lots of water, caves and some sea creatures. The main thing I remember is the character making footprints on squares.

I don't think it's part of the Adventure Island series, as the part where the footprints are made aren't side scrolling.

yea, i, too, think you are referring to star tropics.

you had a kid with a yo-yo (for the most part) as his weapon. he goes through these dungeons and they are actually quite puzzling at times.

there is a beach, and he does leave foot prints, i think, in one of the games.

i THINK its one of the star tropics games there is 2 of them for the nes and i dont know about the snes. your discription sound like that game to me though. sorry if im wrong
