I swallow it, and drink milk-it works better.

Milk works, as does yogurt, hence the lassi drinks available in Indian cuisine.

Holding the water in your mouth is more likely to make you choke or make the water come out your nose if someone makes you laugh by making fun of how lame you are for not being able to tolerate the spiciness. That's never a pretty sight, is it? ;-)

Your best course of action is to drink a hot beverage if you want to get the hot out of your mouth. The thing causing that feeling is an oil. If you drink cold water you just force it to congeal and cling tight. If you drink a hot beverage it melts the oil and washes it on down.

no... just eat it... and if i need a drink, something sweet like lemonade works pretty good.
