Bullies enjoy getting a terrified reation, it makes them feel strong and powerful, their own self esteem is usually low, so this is how they boost it. So instead of reacting, just smile and walk away, don't say anything, just smile. If she/he makes derogatory remarks about how you look, you could say "Thanks for pointing that out to me." but say it nicely, with a huge smile. The bully will become frustrated because she/he is not having the effect on you that they need.

Look buddy remember one thing “The best way of defense is to Attack”. So become a bully your self as well. Or if you can not be a bully then try to make him your friend. This will surely help you

Good thinking!
If I could go back in time and change my attitude towards bullies in elementary school, I would get myself ready for some sarcasms that would make people laugh.
One of my sisters, though, she once had this bully pulling her skirt up almost everyday. Our dad told her to stop crying and pull his pants down. So she did the next day when he pulled her skirt again and his under-pants came down at the same time...
