It depends on the circumstances. in a situation where someone had so much pain and suffered(like in a cancer situation) and you feel as though you're just happy 'cause the person doesn't have to live in pain anymore, there is nothing wrong with that. But if you are actually devilishly happy like ha ha ha the person is dead--wel that is just a different1 The Bible says, that wich you do and that what you think is the same. If you actually had a feeling of hatred towards the person and you are glad that he or she died, it is as good as being the murderer-that is braking the 6th (i think it's the 6th) comandment. and that is transgressing the law of God. Yes, then it is wrong to be happy. i hope this answers your question!

I don't think "happy" is quite the word to describe it, but I did feel RELIEF once at someone's passing.

This guy wasn't what you'd call a "friend" of mine, but he was the friend of a friend at the time I knew him, or at least I should say he was someone MY friend knew very well. Tom - his name was - had murdered his own nephew and nephew's friend - and got away with it! Lack of evidence, and he convinced a jury he didn't do it - but he DID! He even admitted to his attorney, once the trial was over, that he was, indeed, guilty.

Tom started getting into a habit of coming by to see me often during the day, when my ex-husband was at work. Even though I knew he wasn't a threat to ME, personally (he liked me, a lot) - it still always creeped me out, knowing he was, indeed, a killer. In fact, he often boasted, "How many OTHER people do you know that ever got off on a double-murder rap?"! I remember him also saying to me, "I like you, you're my friend! And if anyone ever messes with you, you just tell 'em Tom wants to come see them!". It used to make my hair stand on end!

A few years later, someone shot & killed Tom early one morning as he bought a newspaper outside a small store. Whoever did it, never was caught - just as Tom got away with murder, so did his OWN killer!

I was NOT sorry to hear Tom was gone. He was an evil, evil man. From what I've heard, he had killed even MORE people, before the double murders he was charged with, but got acquited on. Some people truly do deserve death, and he was one of them.

Now, if they would only get the person who shot Tom, and lock THAT person up for life! Seems doubtful, though, seeing as all this happened 14 years ago for Tom, and 20 years ago for the 2 guys Tom killed. We have a LOT of unsolved murders around here and it's really kinda scary....

I wasn't particularly happy when Dahmer died. He was a sick individual who had been hurt all his life and then killed people. The sad part was that no one stopped him from becoming a monster in the first place.

DEPENDS

If they suffered or you were hating them - then yes, it's good that they die so they won't suffer anymore or inflict suffering.

If they were a good person that died abruptly or young - then yes, it's hard, but they died in a humble/almost spiritual existence because they never new what hardship was.

If they wanted their life to be celebrated as a party (no matter who they are) then yes, they may want everyone to be happy with a celebration of their life, not a reflection of their death.

If they said they deep dreams/apirations/goals, etc.that were cut short, and died, then yes it would be sad.

In 1980 after seeing my Mother suffer so much Yes, at that point I Begin to ask God to take her home. I of course didn't want to loose my Mom but it had been 6 very tough months for her and us. I was only 18 yrs old. An only child, was adopted and loosing the only thing I knew. But I was Very Certain that letting her be kept alive here with me was pure selfish and I had to let go. The hardest thing I've had to do to date.

No never. And I don't think anyone could do anything to be that would make me glad that they died. I would just feel guilty if I ever felt that way. But I have a hard time even hurting someones feelings.

I've never been happy that someone I know or have known died. However, there are some people that hurt my family that I'd like to see have a long and painful death...soon!

I think I would rejoice if Dubya died. He'll be happy, too, b/c he would finally be "raptured" and meet his maker who I'm sure will be happy to see him...then send him to whatever hell he believes in...

I've never felt that!Even when my enemys r dying,I'm sad. That's because even when someone I hated is dead he's an ugly picture - it's awful to know that someone u knew left this world. And I thing that the people who r happy because of someone's dead nead to go to a psychiatrist.

yes no both.
I see life as a journey. we all are here for 100 years for this planet called Earth. And after 100 years we go to other planet to start other journey from the begining.

So Death mean ones journey is over.

So one must happy that s/he have to start journey on the other planet from scratch.

One must unhappy that s/he will no longer with you in your own journey.

Normal person will never be happy if somebody dies. Known or unknown does not matter . Life is to be enjoyed and death a sad ending to it. Only vengenceful , jealous feel it.
