Dr. Hawking's book a a brief history of time is a very easy read.
Also there is a movie based on the book .So if that is the book. Yes it is easy and a good read

Just give it a go...if you find it too complicated but manage to get through it all and understand it you will feel so much better then if someone just gave you an outline of it. In fact its not that difficult once you get started...you will be fine if you just put your mind to it
