Oh man, yes! I am 38 weeks along and I can't keep my hands off my tummy! I love feeling the baby move and kick. He even responds to the touches when I rub my belly. He'll kick my hand. LOL. I think it's wonderful and I feel like it's a little bonding between my unborn son and I. :)

Many women do this (we have 4 children).
Some people say however, that rubbing your stomach tends to increase the risk of stretch marks.
I've always heard the recommendation: (1) use a good, simple skin cream regularly as in 2x a day, (2) do NOT rub your stomach (you probably do so just because it itches because it is stretched and/or feels dry).
Good luck

I could *not* leave my stomach alone while I was pregnant! I always had my hand on my belly no matter what I was doing, and when the baby moved my hand jolted to feel her moving! It's neat isn't it?
Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and I hope you have a great delivery!

every pregnant woman does this sweetie..
It's a natural instict to show affection to your baby.
The same reason you put your hand on your stomach when you feel threatned.. Cuz you are trying to protect your baby.
Just wait after you have him/or her, than you still find yourself doing it because they lived in your belly so long..
enjoy it while it lasts..

I'm almost 7 months in the family way, too, and I do the same thing. I guess its a natural habit for moms-to-be. You know, a simple way of telling our baby: "Mommy's here, Sweetie." ;-)

It's totally normal...we all do. that...Have you noticed any interaction between your tummy and the daddy? When my hubby comes back from work and starts speaking, my baby starts moving and kicking. When daddy kisses my tummy, baby moves where his dad is...it's just so weird....We both look forward having him in our arms....
I'm due Today!!! But apparently the baby is well inside, and my doc told me to come back for a check up on Friday....Now he can come whenever.....I'm starting to feel a bit nervous....

Most women do. It soothes the baby and gets it familiar with it's mama's touch.
