Incomparable.
If you call someone @ home & you get their voicemail, or if you write & they receive your mail on their cell phone instead, email would be faster.
There are scenarios for both, neither is better nor faster they augment eachother.

most people dont type very fast. 5 times is a good average if you can really type with both hands. 10 times is more like the average two finger typing!
