Weight gain can really vary during pregnancy. Some women gain a lot in the earlier parts, but it levels off soon after, and some gain more later and not much to begin with. Some even lose weight early on due to morning sickness. If you are very concerned about your weight gain, I would ask your OB at your appt. I don't think 2 lbs is an unsual amount at such an early time.

Weight gain varies - I put 2 stone on from start to finish with my first daughter but had twins 14 months ago and only put on a stone and a half!!!!
At 6 1/2 weeks, your baby is like a grain of rice so I doubt the 2lbs is anything to do with the pregnancy......

It is perfectly normal I didn't start putting on big pounds until I was about 6 months along. You can always ask your doctor when you go in every month, they weigh you and they will let you know if your not gaining enough weight. On average for a first time mother gains 25-35 pounds through the whole pregnancy.

hi, dont worry about how much weight you have/havnt put on.. you wont even start showing until your about 4 months. You are only 6 1/2 weeks so you could even get morning sickness anytime soon and lose weight for a little bit. You dont really start to notice any weight gain until that settles down, or if you havnt been sick about 3 months. hope that helps

Some people dont put any weight during their first few months of pregnacy. It really just depends on the person. If you are really worried why dont you have a chat wth your commuity midwife or doctor? They will be able to advise you on what you should be experiencing and when. When I had my baby I actually lost 2 stone as I was so ill, so really dont panic and like I said have a chat with someone with a medical background.

Everyone is quite different. Please don't listen to any of the people who tell you that you shouldn't gain wait until 4-6 months. It depends on your body, your lifestyle, etc... But you also should not be concerned that you only have gained 2 lbs. If there is a concern about your weight gain or lack there of your OB will tell you. Good luck!

I did not start gainig weight until about 12 weeks. Most of the weith i gained was in the last three months and I now have a beautiful baby boy who is four months old. In the begining you dont show or gain weight but dont worry it will come.

Dont worry about 2lb. I am 20 Week no and i have only gained 2lb the whole pregnancy but thats only because i cant eat most foods. As long as your midwife/ GP says everthing is ok there is no need to worry. I Had lost weight from the first appointment but as my Bp n iron levels were fine My midwife said there was nothing to worry about just keep eating a health balanced diet and you will be fine

Everyone is different. With my first baby i didn't put much weight on to start with, with my second and third it went on quite early and i felt quite bloated early on. it is still very early days try and enjoy it, you will be throwing up have swollen ankles, snapping ,being the size of a baby elephant soon enough take it all in honey and enjoy it don't worry. Good luck p.s get in plenty of sleep in the later months while you still can
