In my experience, no... Because I only add the ones who I know or are familiar with and actually, I don't think anyone from another country had tried to add me or something... But there was once! See, I have kinda a unique name so there was this profile where they have all the people around the world with the same name to be friends with this profile. Unfortunately, I don't and haven't engaged in any form of communication from among them. But maybe in others' case, friendships are growing within friendster and that's a good thing. However, I don't really know anyone who are like that...

Depends on how u use it. I have FS account once and it really nice to find some old friends and then found new one. It also great for renewing friendship or just to know each other's news one in a while. Lots of people have FS just to show how popular they are by getting the most friends even if they don't know those people. I think yahoo 360 is better...
