I am a guitarist who wants to do a solo act?

Question

I have been playing guitar for 4 years now, I'm 15, and want to start getting serious. I am fed up with playing in bands that don't do ****, I figure I can do it better on my own. I'm not sure if I should just play my guitar and sing, or add a drum box and some bass pedal (the things so you can play bass with your feet). I plan on doing originals and covers, half and half. Thanks.

you planning to do an acoustic set(s) .....or plugged in ........?
either way .........start with just the guitar . seek gigs in local coffee houses , and all age clubs . make flyers ..........get your friends involved . create a buzz ...............
