I cant say that it annoys me but I do find it disturnbing that it is now accepted as normal behaviour to use the phrase.

I saw a film just the other night, where a young monk travels forth in time to recapture two female demons. When one of these female demons gives painful birth to a monster, she also screams "Oh god!" and that point I realised Ed Wood Jr was not the worst film director of all time.
Whenever someone says 'Oh god' or 'Oh my god' on celluloid though, I am not bothered. It's said a lot off-camera too and to me it's a meaningless phrase. That some take offense in idle use of god's name is a bonus.

If a movie is intending to show people behaving in a realistic way, then the characters need to speak the way that people really speak. I hear plenty of people use that phrase out in the "real world;" why should screenwriters/actors be forbidden to use it?
Art imitates life.

It makes me cringe every time I hear it. Especially the reality shows. The women, mostly, must say it 30 times or more during the one hour program. They don't have much of a vocabulary.

Yes, you just proved it in asking this question. But yes it is very annoying and disrespectful. Its amazing that when people curse they remember to capatalize God's name, but when they make reference to God's name they forget to Capatalize his name. Not giving him the Respect He deserve. I think it should be the other way around.

like OMG!!!
its not really annoying and its not meant to be offensive if you happen to take offense to it. "oh my god" is pretty much the vernacular ... used to express surprise...
do you know how often i hear people say that on a daily/hourly basis??? get a typed OMG into IM conversations ....
