Credit Unions have always had better rates than banks...but you'll still have to shop around for the best CU rate in your area...

We live in CA to. We use bank of America. They have great rates on long and short term rates. Check them out.

ING Direct has a 1 yr cd term at 5.20% and JP Morgan Chase has a 6mth cd term for 5.25%
