There can be if the woman is not lubricated or is too tight. If you're aroused and still feeling pain try some KY. But if that doesn't work and if this is a persistant problem it could be the sign of a more serious problem and you should check in with your OB-Gyn. And don't be embarrassed...this is what OB-Gyn's do, I doubt it's the first or last time they've had the question come up.

For first-timers yes there is pain (the type that hurts). After that, it is only the "pain that hurts so good."
Seriously......some like rough sex and like the pain. Anal sex can be painful--depending on how big the man's organ is and how small the anal hole is on the woman.
