A man and his niece are said to have committed suicide by jumping off a multistory car park at Block 730A, Tampines Street 71, on Thursday evening.
Eyewitnesses told police they saw the pair leaping off the fourth level, and they were said to have been kissing before they jumped.
The woman, Poh Lee Hiong, 32, was killed on the spot. The man, Gan Guan Hin, 46, was still alive when police arrived, but died in hospital soon after.
It is understood that Mdm Poh was married with two young children. Mr Gan, a welder, was also married with three children aged 17 to 21. – 938LIVE

It is sad when someone resorts to taking their own life.
It doesn’t matter whether I know them or not… It is still sad !!!
I myself have lost four close friends to suicide over the years…
It is not an easy thing to accept, or live with !!!
Whilst I appreciate that desperate times call for desperate measures, I don’t believe anything is ever solved by ‘suicide’.
It just tends to throw the problem on to those who are left behind !!!

This is all really sad; I am in a point in my life where everything seems sad. If they had an unrequited love that they couldn't fufill than maybe that is the reason they chose to kill themselves. What I don't understand is you siad that it was a man and his niece. That is callled incest and even if they loved eachother, they shouldn't have and that might have been the reason that they killed themselves. I want to believe in happy ever after but the more I grow up the more I realize that it is all bullshit. People might be happy for a while but eventually that love fades and they only remain together because they don't know anything else. I wish people would not kill themselves for love but maybe they know something that we don't. Somehow, it was more important for them to end their lives then to live apart and love the people they left behind.

His neice you say? These two are from a different culture than mine. I think it's sad when people who love each other cannot be together but, taking their own lives is not the answer. They are still not together and they've hurt some very important people who they probably also loved and who loved them. Very sad.

They are selfish people, who just ignore the sadness of the others who care for them. Nothing to be sad about them, but feel sorry for the next of kin.

This is heartbreaking because their children will be the ones to suffer. I think they were weak and took the easy way out...

that is so sad they were probley in love with each other but knew that they couldn't have each other. so they just thought that if they died together maybe they would be to gether in death . i hope they were right . may they be with god this day
