Who wants to believe everything someone else says about you? If you believe and accept everything they say then you are denying your herittage and let me tell you something. A white person may have you think like them, act like them, talk like them, but in the end you are still black and there is nothing you can do to change it.

-People disrespect/fear/hate people for being different, pure and simple. The herd nature of human psychology encourages peeople to reject 'outsiders' and the easiest way to tell if soeone is different is if they look different. It happens in every school every day: kids constantly check each other out to see if they all conform- the ones that dont fit that aren't wearing the 'popular' style clothes or whatever, are singled out for ridicule and attack. God forbid you express an unorthodox opinion or idea! No matter how 'white' a black person acted they're still identifably different and some people willa lways have a problem with that. Some people have low self-esteem and need to feel better that others. Some are just ignorant dirtballs, and some just don't know/understand. Let a white person go into an all-black place or environment and you'll see the same dynamic at play...

I really don't understand the question but truly, I do not believe white people are losing sleep over weather the African American is loyal to BET or the NAACP. If black people hated these forums, then I suppose that these forums would not exist, But ask yourself this......"What if white people had White Entertainment Television (WET) or WAACP or Miss White America........wouldn't be cool would it?? It would be racist. I don't believe that white people expect blacks to do anything other than be a productive happy individuals.

As an old white guy, let me recommend that you should do your own thing in your free time. During the time you are willing to sell, as in work, satisfy the customer. Do not try to impress those you do not know and those that do not care for you personally.
Finally, if someone calls you a ******, say, "Does that mean you have observed that I have more melanin in my skin. Let me take a quick look her. Well look at that would you, I do have a bit more pigmentation than some. How about that."
Look in the mirror and respect yourself.

I am confused by your question. I don't really care whether black people enjoy BET or not. I think NAACP is a great organization that has done a lot of good. I know a lot of people are racist, but not everyone is.

I can only speak for myself. I personally only respect blacks if they don't speak Ebonics. I don't mind local regional accents but Ebonics is something alot of blacks do because they think it is cool. Where I live every race has the same accent, asian, mestizo, white, natives, ect, ect. But blacks are the only ones who sound diffrent, and Ebonics sounds completely stupid and uneducated.
Also most blacks where I live act aggresive to everyone, they dont hold the doors for anyone, walk slow like old people, loud, block doorways and paths, harrass women who turn them down.
My workout buddy is black and none of his friends are black. In high school blacks use to pick on him for dressing in regular clothes and speaking English

so you know about my background...i am half puerto rican and half italian...on the p.r. side my gradmother was born there, my g.grandma was taino indian (the native people of the island), my g.grandfather's family was mostly from spain when the spanish claimed the island for use in the slave trade (not the high point in my family history, sorry) they went over on the slave ships, which is what makes up the rest of his ethnicity by way of marriage (my gg.grandma and ggg.grandma i believe)
ok...with that out of the way...i think its a double edged sword for every race really. for example, my best friend in 3rd grade was jamaican. i am ethnic but obviously grouped into the caucasian category if you ust look at me. she was teased for not "acting" black enough. the called her oreo, black on the outside white on the inside. on the other hand, you have white people that watch bet and wear urban clothing and the are often labelled as "w-gg-rs (i feel bad typing out any racial term but you can figure it out) because people say they are acting "black." in the cities, life is harder. my mom would get teased by other latinas because she didnt hang, went to catholic school, and "acted" like she was "better than"
i personally have the most respect for people who stay true to themselves and dont change to fit their surroundings.
you can't act like a race. you learn by example. at first your relatives or caretakers when you are young and you naturally mimic them, you are also influenced by your surroundings. many people change to adapt, either to survive or to get a promotion even if they still know those early values. once again adapting to your surroundings people have a natural desire to be excepted. so people start acting cerain ways.
i dont know about all people everywhere, but you do have to act professional when you are older. whether at your job or to be a role model for your kids or as an example of the community. but you shoud never loose yourself. in my case, i dont talk the sme way at work as i do with my friends. maybe that means i am acting white because i dnt curse or use slang at work to someone. but that's their ignorance holding them back.
i have equal repect for the bet and naacp guy as i do for a the guy who supports a white oganization. as long as they really believe in the cause and arent doing it to fit in. if he is joining just to be accepted by the whites i would think they would have less respect for him. they have the upper hand and i would think less of him. now if they join the naacp in return i think they would view themselves as equals.
sorry so long but if people stopped acting certain ways to fit in or please other people maybe things would change. but if society keeps associating certain things with specific races, which is just ignorant, instead of looking at the person as an indiviual or people stop caring about what people think of them, both from their race and others, their will always be stereotypes. a stereotype is formed by people conforming to the majority in society. its easier to do that than to be an individual.
i have no respect for anyone who changes for someone else becasue they are being taken advantage of. you lose respect for someone who is always in subordinate position, and their by his own doing. who care is a race likes you. at the end of the day you have to like the person that looks back at you in the mirros.
