so sad. not sure if I should let my boys know. they are only 5 and I told them that someday we would meet him. they loved him and I am not sure if I should mention this to them. they love animals and espcially reptiles ,crocodiles and snakes. Steve we will miss you.

Yeah, Steve Irwin was killed at about 11am AEST whilst filming a documentary. He was killed by a stingray barb which went through his chest, apparently puncturing his heart. Such a loss for everyone around the world. Also, Terri is trekking through Cradle Mountain in Tassie and has not been informed which is also sad. All I can say is that he died happy, doing what he loved. Crikey! What a great man.
You should tell your kids so that they are not disappointed when they never do meet him.
We will all miss Steve and condolences to his family

"It is believed that Mr Irwin collapsed after being stung by a stingray at Batt Reef off Port Douglas at about 11:00 am (0100 GMT). He had been filming a documentary," a statement from the Queensland Police Service said.
Sadly, Mr Irwin has passed away. Yes, tell the boys. It may hurt them but it's kinder in the long run.

I would agree not to say anything to your boys. I watched Steve a few times and I found him quite entertaining.

I just read that! Shocking but I guess it shouldn't be. He did some crazy stuff. I wouldnt tell the kids unless they some how found out and asked. No need to quell their interests.
