Yes! Doing what you like is all about yourself, the person you are. Of course you want to do what suits you and you should! But always bearing in mind that you cannot be happy at the expense of others. Yur actions must always take into account, not only your own safety, but that of others. For instance if you decide to drive your car same as a racing driver would, you must remember that, anything happening to you would hurt, not only you but your whole family, your friends etc. Not only that but you could also kill/seriously hurt someone in another car/pedestrian and the repercussions would hurt, not only them but everyone who loves them as well. This is just an example, i could have used another example, that of someone deciding to have a mad affair with the person he/she is infatuated with, regardless of the fact that either may be in an actual relationship, know their action/fun can cause heartbreak to their partner/spouse.

Si in brief ... It's OK to do what you want to do just as long as .. You and others don't get hurt as a result.

Well, as a UK citizen, the answer is a resounding yes! Everything that we do should reflect with how we feel about what is around us, the environment, our neighbours and society in general. That is what anti-social behaviour laws are all about .... they make us aware that we must consider, albeit to the extreme, the rest of the nation. IF we didn't have this, then we would be planting the seeds of anarchy. We must have an ordered system around us and while petty bureaucracy is a nightmare, the consideration of society, the environment and people around us is a must. Your question is a very valid one, I just wonder why you felt you had to ask it?

All of us need to do that. Out of this thought only the social disciplines and cultures developed. If we carefully study any particular society, there must be a reason for shaping them the way they are today.

But many times, we go selfish and care only our own needs and it jeopardises the social equilibrium to the extent of the depth of particular action by any individual.

Our actions can have a deep impact upon society. One example of this is anti-social behaviour often in the form of dropping litter and squirting graffiti on people's walls and fences. It is of the utmost importance that all of us pay attention to the needs of "society" when we do anything.

Yes. All great moral and ethical systems agree on this. To ignore this is to fall into suffering and misery.
