It finally happened! OUCH!!! Stung by a Sting Ray. Well, who knew his death would'a come from a measly yappah like that? He may be the Crocodile Huntah, but apparently he wasn't the Sting Ray Huntah.
He was a great bloke - but today, I bloody-reckon he wasn't the hun-TER... but the hun-TED.

Did they kill the Sting Ray? They should've. SoB. It's 3AM here right now, I was about to go to bed, but... hell, not when a world tragedy happens like this.

I seen that, four months ago a man on here asked if he had died - turned out to be false, but bloody hel l, it HAPPENED FOR REALZ this time. I guess if you stick your hand into the lions den... or the snakes pit... or... well if you just go diving in an ocean full of "BEAUTIFUL" creatures enough, this is what happens.

Crikey! He was a good man - always had great times watching him on TV...

G'Day -N- G'night!

Yes it is true. It has been confirmed with Australian Authorities. He was killed by a stingray sting to the heart.

Yes, it doesn't seem possible. He had that weird look about him that you could see he knew what he was doing. Sucks BIG TIME!!!

Probably didn't see it coming or he would have prepared himself. The man had incredible friggin' reflexes! I just can't believe it! A stingray of all things.

He's so likable and after watching him on TV you feel like you almost knew him as a neighbor.

We lost a fantastic human being today!

Unfortunately, to everyones dismay, the seemingly invincible Crocodile Hunter has passed on. Who would have thought of all the many creatures that he's encountered it would be a stingray that brought him down. He'll never be forgotten! I wish his family nothing but the best and hope that the public will allow them time to mourn and heal!

Unfotunately, this is for real. It really isn't shocking, considering the type of work he did--though, this news is utterly devastating. Just the other night, I was watching some clips of that "10 deadliest snakes" show he did awhile back. If anyone saw that, you know how fearless this guy was.

its true, i didnt believe it either, i wouldve thought that a croc wouldve done him in and not a stingray. who knew stingrays were deadly? i touched one of them before...scary stuff. then again australia is home to the most deadliest animals in the world.

t's not false news, this report is true.
There have been erroneous reports made before, made believeable by Steve's adventurous nature but unfortunately this one is for real.
Check it out on GOOGLE. This story is being carried by major news companies.
I cannot believe this, my husband is shattered. He always envied Steve's job. I for one, am glad he doesn't have it.
His son is 3 and his daughter is 8.
This is horrible.
