They shouldn't, unless you've got one that releases hormones, like Mirena or Progestasert. Ask your Gyno which one you've got inserted; he/she can change it for a non-hormonal kind so there's less likelihood of hormone related weight gain.

For me it has not, it has actually been easier to lose weight since I got mine about 3 -4 months ago......
I could not be happier with my choice than I am right now.....I have a more even balance I think in my horomones, my moods are stable and I tend to be a much nicer person. My husband was ready to leave me when I was on the shot, then I tried the patch for about a year and then decided that I would look into getting an IUD. I love no having periods.....saves money really....you don't have to buy tampons or pads....it's great. I love having it.....I don't have to worry about taking the pill or putting on a new patch....dealing with being psycho like I was on the shot and it really works. If you are looking into it, I would suggest that you seriously consider it. The pain of having it inserted is minimal in the long run....you have cramping for a few days and it's very uncomfortable during that time but once your cervix closes again, you don't even feel it. It is good for five years and most women become pregnant within a year of removal. It's a great choice for birth control. I have two children and this is a great alternative to having non reversible tubaligation....at this point I do not want more children but I may want more in the future. Anyhow, I am blabbing but the point is that this is the best "alternative" birth control.

I have had mine for 30 days now. No weight gain as of yet. Although I'm bleeding off and on.

No. It's a tiny plastic device inserted into your uterus. There are no hormones in it that would cause you to gain weight.
