It's some seriously f'd up shite. Wikipedia says a rare hit to the chest can be fatal, while the more common hit to the foot is treated by peeing on it!?

the barb from the sting ray apparently pierced the left side of his chest he had a cardiac arrest and could not be revived apparently Steve was filming a story up Queensland way and the sting ray apparently must of felt uneasy and threatened and got him with his tale that's what the papers here in Australia are saying he will be sadly missed by all us Aussies

Stingray's have barbs on their tails. They basically can hook onto things and cause more damage. This particular barb went through his chest supposedly.

It did not go into his heart. It penetrated his lung, causing a fatal seizure.

its a type of sting ray fish-it stuck into him then he went into cardiac arrest with the heart sadly!
