Dont listen to your friends..,a woman always likes a man that takes pride in the way he looks and it sounds like you are doing a great job.Keep up the good work and dont break too many hearts.

One doesn't have to be a girl to answer this question.
Don't worry. . . I think that you can find a middle ground in this dilemma. You can always mix traditionally preppy clothes with skater clothes e.g. wearing skate shoes with a striped polo. How about that?
Your decision to dress, I guess you can say neater and more pulled together, is a good one. If your friends think that you made a bad decision, why are they concentrating so much on your clothes? If you've changed as a person, (hopefully for the better) and they don't like it, then you probably need to find some new friends.
But hey, maybe your situation is different and they're just teasing you and stuff. They'll get over it.

Go through magazines of mens fashion or celebrities and cut out pictures of what you think looks "cool". Put it all together in a binder (or your...trapper keeper?) and it will help you get an idea of how you feel like you shoud dress. It should be balanced...like an unbuttons untucked polo with a clean white shirt underneath, crisp jeans, and skater shoes with a hat.

Sk8ers are kids.
If you feel inside you that you're growing up you should do it.
I've been dating and hangin out with sk8ers and rappers and graffiti artists and generally embraced the hip hop culture and have been wearing baggy pants and long t shirts and dirty sneakers and all...
One day I started feeling undesirable by guys and men and that's when I realized that first I'm a women and then everything else.... So I started dressing up and making my hair and make up, wearing tight jeans and high-heeled shoes and come check me out now!!! I'm a woman with everything that comes in the package, and guess what? My old friends never kicked me out of their sk8ers and hip hoppers "group" and are also proud of my changes!
You don't have to change overnight, but it's good to know that occasion differ and people need to be different...

Everyone has their own taste in fashion. I prefer the look you are doing now opposed to the skater dude look, other girls might like the skater look and others still may like the suit and tie or the uniform look. I have a 13 year old who is doing the skater thing and can't wait for him to get out of it! Although, I did have to take our car into the dealership and the estimator that helped me was in his late 30's and was still dressing like a skater! Looked stupid to me - but like I said to each his own!
Do whatever you like and feel most comfortable wearing! If your "friends" are your true friends they won't care what you wear!

Take off the colorations please?! The eyes are the main extreme area of your face. Your different valuable properties are extreme high quality although. i might use way much less gel, the slicked, sticky look isn't beautiful. in case you like some thing on your hair, i might attempt styling wax, it makes the hair have a greater organic sense
