Hey gurl you arent alone. I am trying to lose 80 lbs and it is a really tough thing to do. but you have to realize that you are beautiful no matter what. And you need to keep your chin up and keep on trucking. Watch what you eat, control portions, follow the food pyramid and read the nutrion facts on food labels(trust me it works, i never paid attention to them and now that I have it really helps.) I used to wear a 20 pant size around your age. After watching what I eat I am finally down to about a 16. It took a few years for me to get used to watching what I eat and stuff. But hey its working. And you are still growing and you will even out. But that always isnt the case. You really need to get out and get moving. Walk an hour a day. I have read multiple times that if you walk briskly for an hour a day you will still burn calories through-out the day. So try it. Set small goals for yourself. When you meet them reward yourself. Try and get your family involved. It is much easier said then done. Trust me I know. I am sorta hoping answering this will help me get back on the weight loss horse and lose this stupid fat.

If obesity runs in your family, your genes may be part of the problem. Do you exercise? Some people are born with more fat cells and a lower basal metabolism than the average person. Believe me, it is not fair that a twenty-three-year-old woman (with two kids under five) can be a size 6, never exercise and eat four plates of deep-fried food at a buffet two or three times a week, but I am a waitress. I watch overweight people eat small lean steaks and salads while thin people eat several plates of fried chicken, chow mein, deep-fried ginger pork, etc., and two or three desserts.

Get a physical. Maybe try Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. It may help. Monitor what you eat and cut back carbs and sugar. Add more protein, fruits and veggies to your diet and stay away from fast food. Save treats for the weekend or on special occasions.

yes your fat,.. is that the end of the world? no

The answer to your problem is not going to be simple because not only will you need to change your eating / excercise habits but youll need to learn to think about yourself differently too..

First and most important you should know that when i was 14 years old i was in your shoes i weighed 240 pounds at 5'10" i needed to lose 60 pounds to get down closer to a Healthy weight. Right now you feel anxious and depressed about your body and weight. this is the first thing that needs to change. these types of feelings have proven to be what causes weight gain and a person to fail in a weight loss program.. this is because you start a program dont see results you get depressed then you eat something that isnt good for you and you feel better...am i right? so how do you change. First get it out of your head of ever having a perfect body. NO ONE has a perfect body! 2nd know that you will have failures and the important thing is to always have your goal in the forfront of your mind. Instead of being depressed remember the things that you want (your goals) instead. Make sure they are positive goals. Like, being able to wear a certain bathing suit, or joining a sports team at your school. Once you are able to change your thought patterns from being depressed (weak) to remembering your goals (strong) youll be at the point to seriously lose some weight. I would talk to your school nurse for a program that will help you in this.. my suggestion is to do 3 things. Drink lots of water (no pop, or juices heavy in sugar) water is best. next start eating more times a day. The thing that helped me the most is those little baby carrots for snacks you can eat those forever feel full and not gain an ouce. to mix it up sometimes get some fat free veggie dip for taste. i would eat a healthy breakfast (cheerios with some fruit is best) then snack around 10 am, then eat a full lunch (stay away from fried foods) eat a snack again around 3 pm, then a healthy dinner (again NO fried foods) then eat something small around 8 pm (here is where you can induldge a bit, a small bowl of ice cream, or a small danish type desert thing). Besides the water and food.. the next thing is to excersise, i would start out slow.. do some stretching routines and walk for a half hour a day... after the first couple weeks you may want to bump this up to jogging. or if you dont want to excersise outside, pushups, situps, jumping jacks etc for 15 - 20 min a day will do the trick..

Last dont let yourself get discuraged nothing is going to happen overnight or even the first month just keep doing this and i guarentee you results. if you fail remember what i said about keeping your goals (not your failure) to the forefront of your mind.

Last thing i forgot to mention... some people think that diet sodas are somehow healthier for you then reg soda. STAY AWAY! this is false, lots of diet sodas have aspertane (mmm sp?) in it which is a nerve poison.

good luck )

I wouldn't worry so much about the weight number as about how bad you seem to feel about yourself.

You know there are millions and millions of people that are overweight, right? And it's hard and not ideal, but don't Hate yourself for it.

You won't be happy at any size if you encourage and accept negative thoughts. That has to change first, then, step by step, deal with the rest.

I hope you cut yourself a break. At your age, it's been mainly your parents responsibility to create your diet, but now that you are getting older, you can make some healthy decisions on your own. Fruit instead of cookies. Walking the mall instead of video games. Bike instead of getting a drive.
Stuff like that.

OMFG! I look at your questions to see if I can offer some friendly advice. Look, if you can't take it for what it is then don't bother asking the darn question! Thought maybe I'd be a friend, but looks more like you are wanting someone to cry for you! Oh, and by the way, you are fat, infact your weight is very unhealthy, either do something about it or get over it!

You are great - remember that. You will lose weight if you keep trying - just believe in yourself and you can do it. Over the last 3 years I have lost around 70LBS without dieting just by doing an extra 5 mins exercise per day and cutting out soda and limiting myself to one snack per day. It is pretty easy to do this and you will hardly have to alter your life at all.
I know what it was like to be fat when I was your age - and believe me it does not have to be hard. If you are friendly and avoid jerks and idiots you will have lots of great friends and lots of fun times. Remember you are a great person and deserve a good life and you will be happier.

Yes, you are overweight. You need to talk to a doctor or nutritionalist as soon as possible. If you're parents won't listen to you, you need to find someone who will and will help you because you are dangerously overweight.
