If you live in the area, then you already know of the many wonderful restaurants down the main drive. There's a lot of affordable good diners just past Rutherford. Domaine Chandon stood out for me though. Can be a little pricey.

Go to Crockett near the Carquinez bridge. There's a restaurant there called the Dead Fish. In Vallejo, try Max's Filipino Restaurant.

French Laundry (one of the best in the country)
If you are unable to get a reservation, I would suggest
Domaine Chandon or
The Culinary Institue at Greystone

there are so many great restaurants in Napa now it's hard to decide. One of our favorites, though, is Julia's Kitchen at Copia. It is a great place and has never disappointed us.

My fave is Martini House in Saint Helena
But I also love Terra in Saint Helena; Bouchon in Yountville; and even though it's terribly expensive I love Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford
