haven't you notice that a chain reaction accures when the news talkes of crimes admitted. a kid shoots his classmates. five min. of fame. more kids do the same. is it just me or what do you think.

Not only does the media exaggerate some things, but yes I think that when they cover something it makes others want to repeat. I had to do a report on this once. Statistics and theories show that more and more crimes are being committed because of an idea someone got from the television. Its sad.

I would tend to argue that crime is increasing.
stats should be available in your area.
I think the reporting of crimes has increased due to improvements in media communication.

In other words you just hear about it more....

it helps by making people aware of crimes, potentially nearby to them....but it also adds to the violence, as you say.
