I was surprised that Walmart didn't have them. There are hundreds of stores in Atlanta so even if you live in another city and you think they don't have branches here, tell me anyway if you think they sell compasses. Should I check a camping store, novelty store, ??

Do you want the compass that gives direction or the compass that you use to draw circles? All camping stores with sell you a directional compass.

Most military surplus stores have good deals on a compass. Especially, if you live near an Army post/installation.

If you mean a magnetic compass, any camping/sporting goods store will have them.

I got a great lensatic compass at a military surplus store. That would be my suggestion.
