The National Labor Relations Board has said that Indian tribes must allow unionization under federal law on their sovereign territory.
However, the tribes, including the San Manuel Indian Reservation which has taken the fight to court, are saying that they are sovereign governments and are capable of handling their own labor issues.
What do you think?

I believe that they are allowed to be autonomous, and the enforcement should not be required.

I think they should decide whether they are a sovereign nation or part of the United States. If they are a sovereign nation then they should succeed from the US and run their reservations as a separate country. They should also stop taking US taxpayer money and not be allowed to have reservation residents elected to state or US offices.
If they want to continue as a real part of the United States then they should have to follow US laws like every other employer and citizen does.
I don't get this thing of trying to have it both ways.

Unless they give up their citizenship and never ask for help from the government again, then no.. Indians like this are selfish people trying to undermine the system. We treated them wrong 300 years ago *cry* none of them were around for it. This argument is just as ridiculous as black people trying to get slave reimbursement.

Everyone deserves a living wage. If they want to pay less, they must not be capable of handling their own affairs. They want to cheat their own people, which is worse than the white man cheating them.

Indians should no longer be eligible for any giveaways or special treatment, they need to grow up and stand up. Their slimy gambling casinos are an insult to their race.

I love the argument that because the white man treated them poorly that this is an excuse to treat their workers poorly. They should have to treat their employees to the same minimal standards that all businesses follow.

No. i do not trust that, pursuant to treaties, "Indian territory" should be offered outside the tibe. My wager is that no matter if that is so offered, the land ought to lose its "quasi-sovereign" status and revert to being goverened in the state in which that is placed.

Yes, I think they should. What the "white men" did to them is morally wrong, and they deserve the best of treatment, and their not getting it.
