I'm sad for his family, his kids especially, it's sad, especially since he was killed doing what he loved, I think that makes it a tragedy.

Like him or loathe him, he was a great ambassador for our country. I'll always admire his genuine passion for all the wildlife here. How anyone can love snakes and crocodiles, I'll never understand.
It's a terrible tragedy that he is dead, I don't know what the circumstances are (diving, stinger, that's it) but thousands of people go diving on the reef every year so I don't think that's particularly risky.
Guess it's testament to what a dangerous country we live in...

I'm kind of sad. He was such a charismatic individual that I can't imagine that his wife isn't particularly devastated.
He also had two children.
I have always thought it was pretty neat the way he was able to engage animals without regard for the fear that dominates most peoples minds with regard to wild animals.

Yeah I am. He was a husband, a father, and someone's son. He lived dangerously to film his expeditions which where intriguing, breathtaking and sometimes even exhilerating. I will miss his work, and I will say a prayer for his family. So sad.

I'm very sad about the news. I really liked him. It will be tough for Terri and the children to learn to live without him.
